PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents obtaining device and a method therefor and a contents server and a contents obtaining system for reducing an acquisition request to contents data to the minimum, and for obtaining the latest contents data as much as possible. SOLUTION: The content obtaining device preliminarily judges whether or not the updating of contents should be operated in the device by using a preliminarily held valid period or the valid period of contents added at the time of obtaining the contents, and transmits a capture request being an access to a contents server which stores contents data whose capture is requested through a network infra structure.
