PURPOSE: A parking system decreases a production cost by decreasing the number of parts, and increases the using efficiency of a space. CONSTITUTION: A parking system comprises a detent plate(2) and a sprag(12). The detent plate(2) is integrally formed with a manual control shaft(4) at whose lower end porton the sprag supporter is formed. The sprag(12) is hingedly fixed at the transmission housing through a vast hole(18) formed at the central part thereof. A hooking jaw(16) inserted into the convexoconcave portion of a parking gear(34) is formed at the front side portion of the sprag(12). The back side end of the sprag(12) has a sprag hooking device corresponding to the sprag supporter. Therefore, the parking system decreases the number of parts, because it comprises only two parts, the detent plate(2) and the sprag(12), thereby enabling to use the same space for other purpose. Thus, the parking system does not rely on only the friction power between the hooking jaw(16) and the convexoconcave portion, prevents a seesaw operation of the sprag(12), thereby maintaining strongly a locking power.
