SYSTEM FOR RETRIEVING IMAGE USING IMAGE HISTOGRAM AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A system for retrieving an image using an image histogram and a method thereof are respectively provided to improve a speed of retrieving an image by using an image histogram without using a space-information retrieving algorithm. CONSTITUTION: An index creating apparatus(110) includes an arithmetic unit, the first normalizing unit, converter, and the second normalizing unit. The arithmetic unit calculates a central point and a distribution value based on an input image. The first normalizing unit divides the central point and the distribution value by a whole dimension of image for normalization. The converter converts a color image into a color coordinate to generate a converted value. The second normalizing unit normalizes the converted value from the converter to generate a normalized value, and outputs the normalized value to the arithmetic unit.
