PURPOSE: A method for automatically searching and displaying a reception channel in a television having a radio receiving function is provided to display a frequency to be tuned originally when a radio channel is automatically searched and to display the current tuning frequency on a screen by separating from the originally tuned frequency. CONSTITUTION: An FM mode is set by a user and an automatic searching command is applied(200). A control unit outputs an automatic searching related OSD R,G,B signal to a video signal processing unit(210). The video signal processing unit outputs R,G,B signal to a CRT driving circuit and displays all frequencies bands on a screen(220). The control unit performs a tuning by a tuner and monitors a frequency with respect to a signal channel(230). The control unit changes a color of a frequency of the signal channel or displays the frequency of the signal channel using a symbol, and stores the frequency of the signal channel in a memory(240). The control unit decides whether searchings of all frequencies bands are performed(250). If searchings of all frequencies bands are performed, the operation is terminated. If searchings of all frequencies bands are not performed, the process is returned to the (230) stage.
