METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DEFROSTING OF EVAPORATOR OF REFRIGERATOR

PURPOSE: A control method for defrosting an evaporator of a refrigerator is provided to delay a defrosting cycle of a defrosting heater and to improve efficiency of an evaporator by reducing the degree of frost deposited on the evaporator through circulation of the air in a refrigeration compartment. CONSTITUTION: A control method for defrosting an evaporator of a refrigerator comprises the steps of: refrigerating a freezing compartment or a refrigeration compartment by driving a freezing compartment fan or a refrigeration compartment fan with a compressor; deciding if refrigerating operation is finished upon turn-off of the compressor; performing fan defrosting by turning on the freezing compartment fan while the refrigeration compartment fan is turned off after the finish of refrigerating operation; and turning on a defrosting heater while the compressor and the fans are turned off when a heater defrosting condition is satisfied. Therefore, a defrosting cycle of the defrosting heater is delayed by circulating the air in a refrigeration compartment.
