PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic method of stable substituted onium tetraacyl borate and it's precursor tetraacyl borate, good in solubility to an organic solvent in the synthesis, free from emission of toxic material, inexpensive and free from residual ionic impurities. SOLUTION: The synthetic method of the tetrascyl borate expressed by general formula (4), comprises reaction of a triacyl borate and a carboxylic acid salt of an amine or an amidine and the method for synthesizing a substituted onium tetraacyl borate comprises reaction of the tetraacyl borate and an onium salt selected from a group comprising a tetrasubstituted phosphonium salt, a tetrasubstituted ammonium salt and a trisubstituted sulfonium salt.
