PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make simply horizontally adjustable a housing part and achieve a fine control thereof. SOLUTION: The lifting and lowering cabinet 10 comprises a fixed main body part 11, a housing part 12 provided so as to be housed in the main body part 11, a pair of suspension belts 13 respectively fixed to both the right and left end sides of the housing part 12 and a driving device 14 for winding and supplying a pair of suspension belts 13. The driving device 14 is provided at a position movable relative to the main body part 11. The position is moved in a prescribed direction, so that while one of the right and left suspension members is pulled upward and the other of them is lowered, the housing part can be horizontally adjusted.
