PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for imparting contamination preventability to the surface of a base material capable of corresponding even in the case the base material has a complicated shape and coverable without applying heat on the whole of the base material and to provide a member having contamination preventability. SOLUTION: This method for imparting contamination preventability to a base material contains a stage in which an inorganic oxide layer is formed on the surface of a base material by a thermal spraying method and a stage in which the surface of the inorganic oxide layer is deposited with a water- repellent film.
