PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and compact structure that improves the braking performance of a multi-wheel drive vehicle. SOLUTION: The multi-wheel drive vehicle is equipped with a front axle device 10 for driving a right and a left front wheel 12, a rear axle device 4 for driving a right and a left rear wheel 9, and at least one intermediate axle device 16 interposed between the front and rear axle devices 10 and 4 to drive a right and a left intermediate wheel 26. Braking devices 22 are arranged for application to either of the rear and intermediate axle devices 4 and 16. When the braking devices 22 provide braking, at least the rear and intermediate axle devices 4 and 16 are placed into a direct drive condition.
