PURPOSE: A method for processing an incoming call while using a data communication service in a voice exchange is provided to detect a busy state, even while using a data communication service besides a voice communication service. CONSTITUTION: If an incoming call is attempted to a subscriber registered in a voice exchange, the incoming call is detected and an incoming number is extracted. A service state of a line corresponding to the extracted incoming number is inquired. If the inquiry is completed, whether an incoming party uses a present service is discriminated in the inquiry data. If the incoming party does not use a service, a call between the incoming party and an originating party is connected. If the incoming party uses a voice service, a call between the incoming party and an originating party is connected according to whether the incoming party is registered in incoming call processing, or a busy state is notified to the originating party. If the incoming party uses a data communication service, the data communication of the incoming party is notified to the originating party according to whether the incoming party is registered in incoming call processing during data communication.
