PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving quantity measuring method for a ball in a check valve free to easily measure moving quantity of the ball in the union bolt type check valve. SOLUTION: A moving quantity measuring method of a ball in a check valve to measure moving quantity of the ball 8 built in the union bolt type check valve 2 is furnished with a ball capturing process to capture the ball 8 in a state where the ball 8 is positioned on the bottom part of a ball storage part 6a by inserting one end of a jig 12 for holding from a clearance of a cap of the union bolt type check valve 2, a ball lifting process to lift the jig 12 until the ball 8 makes contact with the cap 10 and a measuring process to measure moving quantity of the jig 12 in the ball lifting process.
