PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spare lamp and its manufacturing method by which irregular color need not be adjusted even when a user exchanges a lamp in a liquid crystal projector. SOLUTION: After setting the maximum of the center illuminance of a screen, a point where an irregular color effective area is wide and brightness is not lowered from a maximum value to the utmost is selected by referring to relation between a previously measured valve position and a brightness and irregular color effective area, and the valve position is shifted on an optical axis a little.
