SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM UTILIZING UN-STATIONARY SATELLITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the processing required for routing revision of a communi cation packet on a satellite on the occurrence of path switching due to move ment of the satellite in a satellite communication system utilizing an un- stationary satellite. SOLUTION: A ground is divided virtually into a plurality of zones, a zone ID denoting a zone to which a communication destination belongs is included in a header of a communication packet delivered in the satellite communication system. As a processing on the occurrence of hand-off due to the movement of the satellite, a routing table in which a transmission channel and a destination satellite or the like are set in cross-reference with the zone ID is rewritten and communication packets by each satellite are routed by using this routing table.
