The contacts are crimped and riveted to the common cable, which remains flexible. The flexible connection includes a flexible cable or wire (1) to which connection tongues (2) are attached at regular intervals. The cable is preferably made from a multi-strand braid. The tongues, which are electrically conductive, each include a rectilinear section (3) which may be inserted into a modular electrical appts., and a folded section (4) which is wrapped around the flexible cable. The tongues may be cut from a sheet of metal such as copper. The folded section is attached to the conducting cable by crimping around the cable. This may be retained by the use of a reduced section end on the tongue which then fits back through an aperture formed in the folded section near to the point where this joins the straight section. After insertion through the aperture, the end may be enlarged to form a rivet-type fastening.
|
