PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method excellent in terms of a working environment and sanitary properties by using ink containing no organic solvent at the site of marking printing and further to provide a printing method presenting a printed matter excellent in fixing properties even when water base ink-jet ink is used for a packaging material constituted of a plastic base, and the printed matter. SOLUTION: In these printing methods, printing is made on the packaging material having an ink image receiving layer containing a white material constituted of a calcium salt compound, and an aluminum compound, by using the aqueous ink containing a chlorophylline-based coloring agent and a phosphoric acid salt.
