PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for raising a yarn, capable of preparing raised yarn in which fluff is uniformly imparted on to yarn in fine spinning at a low cost. SOLUTION: This raising method comprises raising a yarn by using an apparatus obtained by attaching a flyer device for forming uniform balloon in a robing- like fiber bundle entangled with plural yarns and a raising device having a form raised on the inner surface of a cyclic grindstone installed so as to come into contact with the balloon to a covering type fine spinning machine provided with hollow spindles. The raising method enables yarn to uniformly impart fluff without being influenced by change of yarn after fine spinning with time and enables preparation of high-quality raised yarn at a low cost, because the method can set fine spinning conditions and raising conditions to optimum conditions and carry out fine spinning raising of yarn by one step.
