PURPOSE: A fabric for shielding electromagnetic waves is provided to satisfy the flame retardancy because there has been no shielding components for shielding electromagnetic waves from an electric and electronic apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A fabric(10) for shielding the electromagnetic waves is composed of a fiber containing a phenol resin fiber of at least 15wt.% or more, and has electromagnetic wave-shielding properties caused by the electroconductor layer formed on the surface of the fiber, and improved flame retardancy and resistance to fire spreading caused by the excellent flame resistance of the phenol resin fiber.
