PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion trap mass spectrometer being able to efficiently eliminate unnecessary ions having a wide range of the ratio of mass to electric charge and to separate the unnecessary ions and necessary ions for the analysis in a high resolving power. SOLUTION: In order to discharge unnecessary ions having predetermined range of the ratio of mass to electric charge in resonance from an ion trap electrodes, the optimum value to broadband auxiliary alternating voltage, which has an individual frequency within a predetermined frequency range applied among ion trap electrodes 10, 11, 12, is set according to RF drive voltage amplitude value, frequency of each frequency component of broadband auxiliary alternating voltage. |
