摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic temperature control circuit for a semiconductor laser, which can balance between the problem of shortening the operating service life of the circuit by the aging deterioration, which occurs when the operation starting temperature of the circuit is raised and the problem of increasing the power consumption of the circuit, when the operation starting temperature is set at a low value. SOLUTION: In this automatic temperature control circuit, a control section 40 is constituted to supply a first control current value to a Peltier element 31, when the temperature measured by means of a temperature detecting section 20 is a first temperature, a second control current value which is larger than the first control current value to the element 31, when the temperature measured by means of the section 20 is a second temperature, and a third control current value between the first and second control current values to the element 31, when the temperature measured by means of the section 20 is a third temperature between the first and second temperatures.
