PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording quality of achromatic characters by suppressing recording of chromatic color dots in the periphery of achromatic color characters. SOLUTION: When a part is discriminated as a character part by a black character discriminating signal KM2 and is discriminated as a thin part by a density discrimination signal DEN2, a thin black ink is driven in a single color with respect to pixels into which ink should be driven. When a part is discriminated as a character part by the black character discriminating signal KM2 and is discriminated as a thick part by the density discriminating signal DEN2, a thick black ink is driven in a single color with respect to pixels, into which ink should be driven. By this processing, an image is outputted in color of the thick black monochromatic ink (thick K) in high density parts of black character parts and in color of the thin black monochromatic ink (thin K) in low density parts. |
