<p>The invention relates to a method for measuring the activity of a plurality of terminals in a communication network involving data packets (e.g. in a communication network based on the TCP/IP protocol), whereby said terminals are fitted with a means of data collection and transmission to a central system. The information includes the header of each packet that is emitted or received by the terminal and a stage in which the information thus collected is transmitted to the central system. A collection stage is performed at a physical terminal-communication level with the exclusion of operating tasks for data exchanged by said terminal. This stage is implemented independently from the application layer pertaining to the processing of the data exchanged with the network.</p> |
