The optical aid for parking consists of an illuminated rear view mirror at the rear of the vehicle, angled so that when the driver looks in the standard rear view mirror in front of the windscreen, he can see, via the second mirror as seen in the first one, the area immediately behind the vehicle up to a point far closer to it than is possible with the standard rear view mirror alone.
