PLANAR WIDEBAND INDUCTIVE DEVICES AND METHOD

The planar inductive devices (10) have one or more turns (16) and are operable at a wide range of frequencies on the order of 20 to 4000 MHz. The devices include a thin dielectric layer (15), formed conductors on opposite sides of the electric layer (15), a stiffener board (14) and a core (17). The turns (16) are configured for mutually aiding magnetic coupling and electric transmission line coupling to perform as the windings of transmission line inductive devices (10). The devices (10) are automatically assembled and the method includes making the devices (10) in an array of typically several hundred.
