1,219,513. Injection moulding. GEIMUPLAST PETER MUNDT K.G. 25 April, 1968 [27 April, 1967], No. 19643/68. Heading B5A. Injection moulded photographic slide frames or slide frame halves 17-20 interconnected by sprue 16 drop from the mould, not shown, into a hopper and pass therefrom down a guide 9 and into a housing 15 where the sprue is removed by a circular knife 30, and the separated halves are threaded or stacked on to rods 11, 12 located in the housing. Each moulding 17-20 is engaged by the housing walls and by spacer bars 22-25 provided with springs 26-29, so that the moulding is appropriately guided when pushed against the knife by a plate 34 at the end of a hollow cylinder 32, preferably reciprocated hydraulically. The cylinder embraces the knife in its forward position and receives the severed sprue which is ejected from an opening 33. A safety device to stop the machine should a moulding be stuck in the guideway adjacent the housing comprises rods 40, 41, Fig. 5, extending from a plate 46 normally connected by a spring 47 to a plate 48 attached to the cylinder 32. Should a moulding be in the guideway when the cylinder is urged towards the knife it will be struck by the rods causing the plates 46, 48 to separate and operate a switch 49, 50. A further safety device is located at the free ends of the stacking rods 11, 12 to operate a switch when a sufficient number of frame halves have been stacked thereon.
|
