Sheet metal folders of the kind comprising a base section for supporting the metal sheet, a clamping beam located above the base section and adjacent to the base section a hinged folding beam is characterized in that the turning axis of the hinged beam is adjustable heightwise. The clamping beam a is supported on a rotatable shaft s slidably mounted in vertical pillars c and adjusted by screws d. The shaft is mounted in eccentric trunnions S<SP>1</SP> which by rotation of the shaft clamps the sheet metal against the base section f. The clamping action is effected manually, hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically. The hinged folding beam q is adjustably supported in arms b having spherical hinge pins m fitting into brackets n slidably mounted on the pillars c below the brackets b and adjusting screws o raise or lower the brackets n. The folding beam is actuated by a handle p or hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically through gearing (not shown). Clamping bolts r lock the brackets b and n in position. |
