PURPOSE: A steering column for a vehicle does not need the correctness of the engaging torque of a bolt or a nut and the restriction of the breakage weight thereof. CONSTITUTION: A needle bearing(13) is installed between an upper portion(12) and a bracket(11). Thus, when a driver is run into a steering column, the upper portion(12) is lowered downward. Further, the upper portion(12) and the lower portion(14) of the steering column are connected with each other by taper forms, thereby maintaining the size of the outer diameter of the steering column by the tapers. The breakage weights of the upper portion(12) and the lower portion(14) are adjustable by the insertions of plastic pins and balls. The weight and the length of the steering column are adjustable by a taper portion formed on the upper portion(12) where a bracket(11) is mounted.
