<p>The apparatus consists of a housing which forms a passage and a horizontal conveyor for moving the pigs' carcasses through the passage. The carcass is mounted in such a way that it can be rotated. The cleaning mechanism consists of at least one vertical shaft and at least one horizontal shaft both of which have elastic scraping elements, preferably rubber strips with projections mounted in rows on them.
