In the present invention there is disclosed a process for preparing 7-trialkylsilylbaccatine III of the general formula I, in which the general symbols R, which are identical or different represent alkyl groups containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and being optionally substituted with a phenyl group, by reacting 10-desacetylbaccatine III with a silylating agent Hal-Si(R)i3 and subsequently with acetic acid anhydride without isolating of 7-trialkyl-10-desacetylbaccatine III intermediate.
