PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture reader, a reciprocation using method, a picture processing method and a storage medium where a film scanner, etc., for fetching a picture by switching plural optical filters are constituted inexpensively and compactly and power consumption is saved. SOLUTION: A mechanism provided with a support body A 12 for supporting a carriage 1, a filter holding frame 13 supported turnably by the body A 12 and holding optical filters 10, connecting bosses 1b, a toggle spring 14 giving a turning force to the reciprocating direction of the film to the filter holding frame 13 and the stopper of the body A 12 for regulating the turning angle of the frame 13 executes switching operation for positioning one of the infrared cut filter 10a and the visible light cut filter 10b of the filters 10 on an optical path by using the reciprocation of a carriage 1.
