The capacity of a high-pressure pump (6) is regulated by a variable-capacity electromagnetic valve (23) communicating with an intake conduit (13) of the high-pressure pump (6). The electromagnetic valve (23) is of the type in which capacity is proportional to the excitation current of a control solenoid (26) controlled by an electronic control unit (27) as a function of parameters of the instantaneous power required of the engine. The electromagnetic valve (23) is associated with an overpressure valve (31) calibrated to ensure constant-pressure fuel supply to the electromagnetic valve (23). |
