PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording head in which clogging due to dry-up of ink can be prevented through a simple arrangement and sealing liquid can be removed and resupplied surely at a low cost. SOLUTION: A second edge 44 has a flat face at a part sliding on a nozzle face 28 and a blade 40 bends in accordance with the moving direction of a recording head 18 to abut against the nozzle face 28. The recording head 18 further slides on the second edge 44 to remove sealing liquid 34 applied onto the nozzle face 28 cleanly. Since the sealing liquid 34 can be removed positively from the nozzle face 28 even when high viscosity sealing liquid is applied thickly by attaching importance to the sealing performance of the nozzle face 28, ink 24 can be ejected smoothly. Since high viscosity sealing liquid can be used, the sealing liquid 34 is kept in nonvolatile state for a long term and sealing performance can be sustained while preventing clogging.
