PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the scattering of a line part, a fixing defect and the fluctuation of line width as for an image forming device constituted so that plural image forming units are arranged side by side and almost in parallel and an image forming method. SOLUTION: By a registration detection sensor 6, the toner applying amount and the line width of a line pattern 8 are detected in addition to the writing start position of the images of respective colors. By varying the line toner applying amount or the line width while changing the image forming condition two or more levels, the optimum image forming condition is adjusted based on the optimum image forming condition calculated by a density detection sensor 5 and the measurement data of the line toner applying amount measured by the sensor 6 so that the line toner applying amount becomes a proper value. Besides, the optimum image forming condition is adjusted based on the optimum image forming condition calculated by the sensor 5 and the measurement data of the line width measured by the sensor 6 so that the line width becomes a proper value. |
