PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the knocking effect and withstand voltage property of the cathode ray tube by preventing spark between an electrode, where high voltage is applied, and a metallic line for controlling discharge attached to the electron gun, in the cathode ray tube mounting a resistor for dividing voltage. SOLUTION: In a built-in voltage dividing resistor, a metallic thin film having width not less than 1 mm is placed on the dielectric tapetum face of inner wall side of the neck part, between the middle voltage terminal of the voltage dividing resistor and the discharge control metallic line, and in at least not less than 1 mm from the metallic line.
