PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HMD having an impact buffer material for which a shaping property is maintained even when the material receiver to a particularly strong force. SOLUTION: A head holding member 2 comprises an outer side composed of material having high strength and an inner side consisting of the impact buffer material, i.e., an open cellular soft polyurethane foam and a film disposed on the inner surface of the open cellular soft polyurethane foam. An image display light exit device 1 is held by an arm 5 at the head holding member 2. Speakers 4 are built into both ear parts of the head holding member 2.
