[Also in Division C3] Tubular or flat films prepared from a composition comprising polyethylene, or an ethylene-propylene-vinyl acetate terpolymer, and N - 2 - (hydroxyethyl) - cis - 13 - docosenamide are subjected to treatment with a corona discharge to improve their printability. Thus films may be passed over a metal ground roll with a high tension treater bar positioned over the roll with about 100 mils (2À5 mm.) gap so that the film passes between bar and roll, on voltage of about 10,000 V. being used, so that the passage of the current (of several milliamps) causes a corona effect in the air space next to the film surface. |
