PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant olefin resin free from the problem of the lowering of impact resistance, increase of hardness and adverse effect on the moldability caused by the increase of viscosity in melting even by formulating a flame-retardant to the olefin resin in an amount to develop the flame- retardancy while keeping the simple chemical composition of an olefin resin. SOLUTION: The objective flame-retardant olefin resin is produced by dispersing a powdery flame-retardant having a decomposition point of 140-400 deg.C and selected from Mg(OH)2, red phosphorus, etc., in a crosslinked elastomer selected from EPR, EPDM, etc., and dispersing the obtained domain in a matrix composed of an olefin resin selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. The amounts of the flame-retardant and the olefin resin are 5-2,000 pts.wt. and 3-3,200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the elastomer, respectively.
