PURPOSE: A base station searching method and a receiver therefor are provided to reduce a lot of computing amount according to use of a non-coherent method by adopting a channel estimation value for the primary synchronous channel(SCH1) and a secondary synchronous channel(SCH2) or a common pilot channel(CPICH). CONSTITUTION: A receiver receives signals transmitted through a primary channel(SCH1) after being diffused by a primary synchronization code for a 256 chip interval for every slot. The received signal is inputted to a channel estimator(200), where the received signal is divided into an I channel signal and a Q channel signal, and a carrier thereof is removed. The I channel signal and the Q channel signal with the carrier removed pass pulse shaping filters(10,20) and then pass matching filters(30,40). The matching filters(30,40) take a correlation for the received signal by using an orthogonal gold code(OGC)(Cp). Correlation resulting values squared by square units(50,60) are added and stored. This procedure is repeatedly performed for a receiving signal delayed by one chips, and each correlation resulting value of the chip unit is stored in a slot sum block(70) by a slot unit. The first decision logic block(80) compares the slot unit of correlation resulting values stored in the slot sum block(70) with a pre-set critical value, and determines a slot from which a correlation resulting exceeding the critical value upon comparison is deduced as a slot starting point of a frame for each receiving signal. |
