An inductive signalling arrangement in which the area to be covered is broken up into segmental areas each with a peripheral transmining conductor 12 is provided, in order to reduce the effect of line transmission losses, with individual segment couplings to the signal transmitter 7, for example in the form of transformers 13. The fields in neighbouring segments are arranged to have opposite phases so as to reduce the signal field outside the desired area. Pick-up coils of part-helical and part-angular configuration, stated to be effective at an increased variety of orientations, are described and illustrated. |
