PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low molecular weight compound useful for therapy or prevention of various bone diseases or neurological diseases by specifically reinforcing cell differentiation inducer existing in an organism. SOLUTION: This compound is a substituted thiophene compound expressed by formula (I) or it's salt. [R1 is a 1-5C alkyl; R2 is H, a 1-5C alkoxy, a group expressed by formula NR5R6 (R5 and R6 are each H, a 1-5C alkyl or phenyl.) or a group expressed by formula X1-Ar (X1 is oxygen atom or sulfur atom; and Ar is a phenyl or a halogen substituted phenyl.); R3 is a cyano, a 2-6C alkoxycarbonyl, a carboxyl or a group expressed by formula CONR7R8 (R7 and R8 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl.); R4 is H or a 1-5C alkyl; and X is oxygen atom or sulfur atom].
