PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood club head having a clubface which meets US golf rules and makes it possible to obtain high repulsion without impairing its durability. SOLUTION: The material of the clubface of this wood club head is formed of a metallic material having high strength and low specific gravity of 85 to 115 kN/mm2 in modulus of elasticity and 4.2 to 5.2 in specific gravity and the combination of thickness (d) and face height (H) of the clubface of the club head is set at the following relation, 18d-7.4<=H<=18d.
