COATING MATERIAL USED FOR FORMING PROTECTION FILM OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE: A coating material for forming a protection film of a plasma display panel is provided which is used for fabricating a transparent magnesium oxide protecting layer with satisfactory strength and adhesion and without pin holes or cracks. CONSTITUTION: A coating material used for forming a protection film of a plasma display panel consists of a metal oxide of less than 10 weight% containing Mg(MC)2) of 60 to 90 weights and MxOy(OH)2x-2y(x is 1, y is 0 or 1) of 10 to 40 weights, and an organic solvent. The metal oxide further contains A magnesium oxide of less than 3 weight%. The metal oxide further contains the magnesium oxide of less than 3 weight% and A calcium hydroxide of 0.5 to 2 weight%. The metal oxide may includes the magnesium oxide of below 3 weight% and a barium hydroxide of 0.5 to 2 weight%.
