PURPOSE: If power on 2→3 upshift transmission control signal is outputted, a least duty is outputted before a certain time to release a release pressure to prevent a run up, or a feedback control is carried out if a run up is generated after a duty control signal output. CONSTITUTION: In a transmission control method of an automatic transmission, if a power on upshift transmission control signal is outputted by an acceleration pedal operation of a driver, a release duty is outputted, and a least duty(Dkr) is outputted before a certain release time(Tr) of a release pressure. It is decided whether a run up is generated by outputting the least duty(Dkr) before the release time(Tr) of the release pressure. If the run up has generated, a feedback control signal stored in a memory is outputted. If a detected turbine RPM(Nti) is smaller or equal to a certain reference value(Nt), a corresponding duty is outputted as 0%.
