The brake has a coil arrangement (3) with an armature plate (4) and an axially movable friction plate between two axially movable friction lining carriers (6,8). The friction lining carriers are joined together so as to rotate together by a bearing unit, whereby one carrier is axially flexibly positioned relative to the bearing unit and the other is fixed to the bearing unit. The bearing unit is a toothed element (10) whose axial length extends at least over the axial thickness of both friction lining carriers and the friction plate.
