PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic switching device capable of automatically switching a high speed/a low speed in a chain block and easy in work. SOLUTION: This automatic switching device is provided with a hand wheel connected via a multiple thread screw to a transmission plate supported on a spline shaft, a first clutch means arranged on the hand wheel or the transmission plate so as to be capable of contacting/separating and slidably supported on the spline shaft, a first disc spring means arranged in the first clutch means so as to be capable of contacting/separating and connected via a spline to a driving shaft arranged in the spline shaft, a second clutch means separably fitted to a planetary gear mechanism for forming a speed increase mechanism via a second disc spring means by slidingly interlocking with the first clutch means, an output shaft connected via a spline to the driving shaft by interlocking with the planetary gear mechanism and a pinion for driving a load sheave by linking with the driving shaft via a brake means.
