PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal conducting expansion of image data in the subscanning direction in the unit of a plurality of lines that can improve the efficiency of the expansion and prevent the expansion of all channels from being stopped due to the occurrence of a block-over when an expansion section conducts a multiplex processing. SOLUTION: The image data expansion section 3 in its multiplex operation expands image data conducted by a prescribed function in the subscanning direction by number of lines set in advance by an operation section 6 by a user. Furthermore, the expansion in the subscanning direction is conducted according to the number of lines resulting from subtracting the number of lines for other functions continued at the same time from number of lines of the image data in the subscanning direction expendable at this point of time. Furthermore, in the case of reading compressed data of a required data quality for block expansion, the block-over can be prevented by acquiring an expansion resource. Furthermore, on the occurrence of the block-over, the expansion resource is released and the expansion is again started.
