PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbulent flow layer detecting device which is an inexpensive device by measuring both wind velocity and density at observation points in the atmosphere and detecting the presence or absence of a turbulent flow layer and is capable of shortening time required for detection. SOLUTION: This detecting device is provided with a transmitting part 31 to transmit a beam into the atmosphere, a receiving part 32 to receive reflected waves transmitted by the transmitting part 31 and scattered by particulates, etc., in the atmosphere, either a wind velocity measuring part 33 to measuring a beam-direction component of wind velocity at two observation points or more in the beam from a reception signal received by the receiving part 32 or a density measuring part 34 to measure density at two observation points or more in the beam, and a turbulent-flow layer detecting part 35 to detect the presence or absence of a turbulent-flow layer on the basis of the output of either the wind velocity measuring part 33 or density measuring part 34. |
