PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which the output period of a driving voltage source is varied in accordance with the luminance of a display screen and the output of the source is PWM-controlled to minimize flickering of the luminance of the screen. SOLUTION: In the display device 10, whenever the luminance of a display section 6 is changed by a luminance adjustment operation means 15, a scanning period T of common switches C1, C2 and C3 is changed to a critical period Tc corresponding to the changed luminance to conduct on-driving in a time division manner. Moreover, output periods of driving voltage sources V1, V2 and V3 updated in an on driving time Td that is assigned to one common switch, the driving voltage source is PWM controlled in accordance with changed luminance and the section 6 is light emitting driven by selectively tuned on source switches A1, A2 and A3 in accordance with the display contents.
