摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an anomaly in a pressure device in a hydraulic brake system while a brake operating member is in a nonoperating state. SOLUTION: A master cylinder pressure sensor 204 detects hydraulic pressure corresponding to the operating force of a brake pedal 10 on one hand and hydraulic pressure corresponding to the operation of a pressure device 64 on the other hand. While the brake pedal 10 is in a nonoperating state, no hydraulic pressure occurs corresponding to the brake operating force, and the master cylinder pressure sensor 204 detects the hydraulic pressure corresponding to the operation of the pressure device 64. An anomaly in the pressure device 64 can be thus detected in the nonoperating state of the brake pedal 10. The hydraulic pressure corresponding to the operation state of the pressure device 64 can be detected direct as well, which leads to improved reliability of the anomaly detector.
