PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive emulsion composition improved in redispersibility of its film into water and in at least one of its three pressure- sensitive adhesive characteristics. SOLUTION: This emulsion composition is obtained by polymerizing 100 pts.wt. acrylic monomer in the presence of 5-50 pts.wt. polymer which is obtained by the polymerization of a monomer mixture containing a polyalkylene oxide (meth)acrylate: CH2=CR1COO-(R2O)n-R3 (Rl is H or methyl; R2 is a 2-3C alkylene; R3 is H or a 1-3C branched alkyl optionally having a branch; and (n) is an integer of 1-17) and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylated monomer followed by neutralization.
