PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input output device and a medium that can suppress deterioration in the resolution of an image at an image output. SOLUTION: An image processing unit 4 in the image input output device 1 first obtains rations Kx, K90x of a lateral direction resolution TX of an image output device with respect to resolutions Xin, Yin of an input image received from an image input device in the main scanning direction and the subscanning direction and ratios K90x, K90y of a longitudinal resolution TY of an image output device with respect to the resolutions Xin, Yin in the main scanning direction and the subscanning direction. Then the image processing unit 4 selects the obtained 1st resolution ration group [Kx, Ky] or 2nd resolution ration group [K90x, K90y] which has a smaller resolution ratio. In the case that the 2nd resolution ratio group [K90x, K90y] is selected, image data are rotated by 90 degrees to replace the main scanning direction with the subscanning direction or vice versa and the resulting image data are given to the image output device 5.
